The Scariest of the Scary Haunted Houses in GA

The Scariest of the Scary Haunted Houses in GA

The month of October is always filled with costumes, candy, and haunted houses! There are a number of haunted houses around Georgia, and the trick is to find the right one to be scared of! Here are the best three in our very own state!

  1. Netherworld in Stone Mountain, GA

Netherworld Haunted House is a walk-through dark attraction filled with terrifying live actors, amazing special effects, and incredible monsters straight out of a Hollywood movie. Leave the fear behind… Or don’t, because this Haunted House attraction is filled with terror anyway. The suburbs of Atlanta may look all innocent, but they are hiding the castle that will scare the daylights out of anyone who dares enter. This warehouse is equipped with all sorts of absolutely terrifying sets and fearsome special effects. The quality is just as astounding as it is goosebump-inducing. Prepare to meet witches, vampires, ghosts, and other otherworldly creatures. Beware blood-filled containers, bats and all sorts of creepiness. The building itself is said to be the paranormally active spot if you need an additional spook factor. The place is run by former TV and film members who clearly know what they are doing: the sets and characters are impeccable. Netherworld offers you as scary an experience as money can buy. According to Dianna B of Buzzfeed, “Every year it is something new, something different, and they’ve never disappointed. With two houses, each is themed wildly different. One is a lavish feast for the eyes, the other tends to be gritty and downright grotesque. But both are sensory delights, from sound to scent and everything in between, your mind scurries to keep up with just what the next fright will be.”

  1. Gates of Misery in Rome, GA

Gates of Misery is a walk-through dark attraction filled with torture, torment, and terrifying screams. This 100 years old, two-story building is filled with live actors, special effects, props and more. Zoë Bryson, a Cass High student, recently visited Gates of Misery and had a great time. She said, “many people wouldn’t expect much out of a small town haunted house, but the actors are world class, and the spooks and the house itself resemble a perfect horror site. I had a great time, and I would definitely go back again next year.”

  1. 13 Stories Haunted House in Newnan, GA

13 Stories Haunted House offers three main attractions: The Haunted Pink Trap House, the Apocalypse Zombie Kill Experience, and the Sacrifice Haunted House.

The Haunted Pink Trap House is a collaboration with legendary rapper 2 Chainz, offering the first-ever hip-hop themed haunted house. It provides a form of nightmarish entertainment based on iconic Atlanta based rappers.

The Apocalypse Zombie Kill Experience lets players see if they have what it takes to survive a zombie apocalypse. Players use advanced laser weapons to fight off zombie hordes.

Sacrifice is for those not faint of heart. According to USA Today, it is rated “one of the top 10 extreme haunted attractions in the United States.”  Unlike any other haunted house, you will experience a plethora of physical and emotional torment. Their creatures will attack you mentally AND physically from everywhere. You will be subjected to anything from shock treatment to physical and mental attack. With the extreme nature of this attraction, you must sign a waiver!!
