Last February, Angel Adams’ life was changed forever when she was in a severe car accident that sent her to the ICU for several months. While still on her long journey of recovery, her family asks that we continue to support her with letters, pictures, videos, and visits from friends. “What [we] need more than anything else is support,” her mother said.

Angel was a junior in high school when her accident happened. She was a member of the varsity cheerleading team at Cass, and her mother said, “She is a true cheerleader. She loves her school and supports her team, win or lose.” With the school year starting again, Angel’s mom added that Angel is devastated to be missing the games. “She loved not only the football games but also basketball and volleyball…[She] truly bleeds blue.”

Angel is a friend to everyone, and her mother said she was always asking her to help out others. “She’s always happy. There was never a moment that I’d see her without some sort of smile,” her good friend Mckenzie Howell said. “Her perception on life is absolutely inspirational,” she added.

Angel has improved considerably in the seven months since her injury, but she still faces years of therapy ahead of her. She currently remains in a semi-comatose state in order for her brain to heal. “She is starting to wake up more and more each day, but it is a painfully slow process,” her mother said, “It is hard to see her like this and her not be able to communicate with us, but doesn’t mean that she doesn’t need us to communicate with her,” she continued. She asks that we write letters, send videos and pictures, or even stop-by for a visit. She asks that we keep Angel in our thoughts as she continues her recovery.
