How to Have the Perfect Snow Day

For Georgians, snow days are a rare and beautiful gift. Our winter usually hits about mid-January, and we experience 2-3 days of a mixture of ice and snow. However, Mother Nature decided to switch things up for us this year and covered Georgia with between 6-8 inches of snow last Friday, December 8, 2017. While warnings of a light dusting had been on the weather channel, no one was expecting it to hit like it did. It was a true December miracle!

The first way to enjoy a snow day is sleeping in. No school means no math tests at eight A.M. and no detention for laying in bed until ten o’clock. Snuggle up close to your favorite pillow and catch up on some missed “z”s!

The second way to enjoy a snow day is the snow! Bundle yourself up like a giant sweater monster, and get outside! Having a snowball fight is the perfect opportunity to get out some of those frustrations on your older brother. You can build a snowman, and add your own creative flair to it with your favorite scarf or hat. It’s a great way to enjoy the snow while spending time with your family and friends.

Making “snow cream” is another awesome opportunity to make your snow day great! Adding milk, vanilla extract, and sugar to a bowl of clean snow makes an authentic bowl of vanilla ice cream flavored snow.

After a day filled with fun, bundle up inside next to the fireplace, and sip some hot chocolate. It’s the perfect way to end a perfect snow day.
