The 4th seeded Cass Colonels defeat 5th seeded Carrollton 45-44 in the first round of the Region 7-AAAAA tournament Tuesday, February 6th. This win catapults the Colonels to the state playoffs. In the Daily Tribune News, Cass’ Coach, David Brock, expressed his pride in his players’ hard work as well as the team’s hope for the future.

“That game was for those seniors,” Brock said, “and they weren’t going to let us lose that game. I’m so happy they’re going to get to experience the state tournament because they never have before. …

“We got it done this year with a group that has been through some heartache, and I think those problems they had those previous two years being in that locker room [after losing in the first round of the region tournament], that’s what got them to win it tonight.”
