To start with, the term “Black Friday” is used to describe the chaos that happened when large numbers of people came into the city to begin their holiday shopping. As years went on businesses turned Black Friday into a positive event. Black Friday is now an event many people love to participate in. Some people do not like the chaos of Black Friday, so they stick to online shopping. Makenna Martin a 10th greade student at Cass states, “My black Friday traditions are shopping on Amazon. I like to find good deals and I also like to avoid going out into the chaos, so I stick to online shopping.” The rise of online deals and shopping have increased tremendously. Online shopping is more convenient and easier to access. When shopping online you do not have to wake up early, ditch your family on Thanksgiving, or stand in line outside in the cold. You can also shop at more places more efficiently.
Makenna goes on to say, “However this black Friday I am going to target to get the new Taylor Swift eras tour book! I am so excited!” Online shopping has its advantages but it’s just not the same as in-store shopping. Ordering online could take a while to get the item in your possession, and nothing compares to taking the item home with you. It all comes down to personal preferences. Both online shopping and in-store shopping have their perks, it also comes down to personal preference. Junior, Ava Harris tells about her plan this black Friday, “This year me and my best friend are waking up super early to shop at Target and Ulta. I am super excited to shop all the good deals this year!”
Stores this year are offering amazing deals. Nike and Adidas are both offering 50% off select items. Stores like Target, Macy’s, JCPenney, Ulta, and many more have sales like no other. Carson Brannon, a Junior at Cass, is excited to wake up early and get what she wants, “I really want the new Apple AirPods so I am waking up early and going to Target because they are 200$ cheaper this Black Friday.” Target has deals for all sorts of things like home goods, clothing, makeup, and more. You can expect many more deals with big discounts on TV gaming consoles, and toys at Walmart.
It’s also the time to get an early start on Christmas shopping for your loved ones. “Me and my mom are going shopping for my dad! He’s been talking about a new speaker and Best Buy has one on sale!” says Erin Clinard. Best Buy usually has some of the best deals on electronics like speakers, laptops, smartphones, and headphones.
For online shoppers, Amazon has some of the best deals on everything! If you do not like the chaos of in-store shopping, Amazon is offering many amazing sales. They also have sales leading up to Black Friday, so be sure to keep a lookout for those.
