Tuesday, August 24th, Cass High School Army JROTC held its first round of promotions, including JCLC (JROTC Cadet Leadership Camp) promotions. Many current and former members of the Cass family, as well as cadets’ family members, were allowed to join in and make this a special day for everyone. These cadets will go on to serve in different command and staff roles throughout the battalion. These are the first of many promotions to come this year.

The following cadets were promoted to the rank of Cadet Second Lieutenant:

• Carlos Veloso (promoted by former BCCCA Public Safety Instructor Mr. Don Moody)
• Christopher Jennings (promoted by Cass High Senior Army Instructor CW4 Seamus O’Shea)
• Andre Ayers (promoted by his father, COL William Ayers, and his mother)
• Charles Hembree (promoted by Cass High social studies teacher Mrs. Christie Barnett)
• Miriam Velazquez (promoted Cass High band director Mr. Samuel Iddings)
• Nubia Leo (promoted by Cass High literature teacher Mrs. Kayla white)

The following cadets were promoted to the rank of Cadet Sergeant Major:

• Parker Dunn (promoted by his mother)
• Hannah Cowart (promoted by her mother and father)

The following cadets were promoted to the rank of Cadet First Sergeant:

• Joshua Renfro (promoted by Cass High Senior Army Instructor CW4 Seamus O’Shea)
• Micah Hatzidakis (promoted by his grandmother and grandfather)
