Atlanta Car Break In

On January 20, 2020,  76 cars were broken into and vandalized at Beltline apartment complex. The Edge apartment complex along Edge wood Avenue faces the popular Eastside Trail of the Atlanta Beltline. Residents of the apartment complex woke up to thrown bags everywhere outside the complex and shattered glass on the ground. The thieves had smashed the windows to dozens of cars in the parking garage. One resident told channel 2 action news reporter Justin Gray that “Every car I drove by literally had shattered glass on the ground.” The break-in has left residents of the apartment complex worried about their safety. One resident who wishes to be unknown told reporters of Channel 2 News, “I called security and I actually went to stay with a friend. I did not feel safe here.” Residents are angry and unhappy with the events that have occurred and want something to be done about it. One resident told Justin Gray that “People are scared, and they are mad.” The apartment complex owners have said they are going to act by adding more security guards and cameras to ensure safety and have increased patrols. Residents are still riddled with fear and want their safety to be a priority.
