Deadline for AP Test Sign Up Is March 9th
AP classes are often a must for high school students interested in college. Simply by taking a higher-level course and passing a test, teenagers can save thousands of dollars in the future, as they will already have certain credits and will not need to pay for the full college course. With the end of February fast approaching, the sign-up deadline at Cass High School for AP exams – March 9th — is coming closer.
Generally, AP exams range around a ninety-dollar baseline for countrywide submission; those interested in international submission will have to pay an additional sum. Although some are off-put at first by the price of exams, when considering the significant price of college classes, the exams are a small fee – especially if the student in question is already taking the course. However, of course those with lower income would have a much higher degree of difficulty in paying, so those who qualify for free and reduced lunch are able to have one AP exam free; after that, the price will be lowered to a fifty-three-dollar fee for each test they wish to take.
For those who wish to take their tests but are having difficulties, whether it be financial or otherwise, please plan with a counselor to see if any arrangements can be made to help. Ms. Cunningham mentioned that scholarships are available to those who may need it and are willing to apply. The importance of these exams is understood by the faculty; if a student is
facing an obstacle in the way of their future, an open discussion with a counselor or teacher might be the key to clearing it! Forms can be picked up at the front office, so please make sure to have them filled out by the deadline!
