What Does Your Eye Color Say about You?

According to a study from the UK eye drop manufacturer Murine, eyes are the first thing people notice when meeting someone new. Eye color is often related to peoples’ perception of one’s attractiveness. While the shades and tones vary, most people fall under a category of about six different eye colors: brown, hazel, blue, green, silver, and amber.

Some studies have even claimed that there is a scientific connection between personality and eye color.

For example, Scientists at the Orebro University in Sweden studied 428 people and noted that “our eye color is affected by the same genes that form our frontal lobes, thus there are distinctly shared behaviors in people with similar irises.” Dr. Anthony Fallone of Edinburgh University added, “The eye is so closely linked neurologically to the brain that you might call it the only part of our brain you can see from the outside.” Many people think that touting that eye color and personality are linked isn’t supported by scientific evidence, that it is just a fun thing to read about, but studies have shown these claims are backed by science. I’m sure that there are exceptions to this, but the overall population supports these studies.

If you have brown eyes, you come across as a natural leader. Dark-brown eyed people are agreeable and quick thinkers. According to aclens.com, “Brown eyes are the most common eye color in the world with over 55% of the world’s population having brown eyes.”

People with hazel eyes are often independent, spontaneous, and confident. Some studies show that the hazel color comes from an effect of a liver imbalance. Also, they are thought to be more prone to digestive issues.

People with blue eyes often possess great inner strength and physical strength. They are often seen by others as timid or unassertive, while others claim they are wary of new things and less open to their peers.

Green-eyed people are seen to be alluring, mysterious, and intriguing. They have both the dominance from brown-eyed people and the strength of people with blue eyes.

Silver eyes are just a variation of blue eyes, but with less pigment. These people come across as well-balanced and hardworking. They often strive to be taken seriously.

People with amber colored eyes are seen to be strong and independent. This eye color is very rare and thought to be caused by an increased presence of a pigment called lipochrome.

While many variations of each eye color exist, every iris is unique and beautiful. Eyes are seen as ‘the window to the soul’ and science proves it.
