It’s a new year for Cass JROTC. That means a new season begins for the Raiders team. Raiders is a highly strenuous but enjoyable sport. During a Raider meet cadets will dress in full Army Combat Uniforms, and compete in multiple events. These events include a team run and a cross-country rescue where teams are required carry a 110-150 pound liter while 4 cadets carry a 35-45 pound rucksack over a 1.2-mile rough terrain. Raiders also compete on a difficult obstacle course where they will work as a team to go over, under and climb past challenging obstacles.

Another event is the gauntlet which requires them to complete highly physical challenges such as flipping a 300-400 pound tire across the width of a football field. A premier event the Cass High Raiders participate in is the rope bridge which they have been capable of completing in less than 1 minute and 18 seconds. Raiders have their first competitive meet on September 9th at Adairsville to compete in the tiger challenge. The Raiders will host their first home meet at Cass High School on September 23rd. Show your support to the Raider team by coming and cheering them on!
