Savoy Automobile Museum Set to Open December 8th

December 6, 2021

That’s right, Cartersville, unofficially dubbed as “Georgia’s Museum City” by visitcartersville.org, is set to open yet another dazzling museum in just a few days! Georgia Museums, Inc., the owners of Tellus and the Booth Western Museum, is coming out with the highly anticipated, Savoy Automobile Museum.

The cars on display are curated within an incredibly sleek and modern red building just across Walmart and highway 20. Savoymuseum.org describes their campus as “approximately 65,000 square feet, complete with a soaring Great Hall, four exhibition Galleries, a state-of-the-art Presentation Theatre, an extensive research library, the Savoy Café and kitchen, private Dining Rooms, and the Savoy Store.”

The grand opening of Savoy will boast 5 exhibitions, 4 of which are temporary. American Racing, The Great American Classics, Woodies, and Orphans are all incredible collections donated and commissioned from various local collectors ranging from classical to modern and popular to abandoned. The Savoy Collection exhibits some of the most iconic vehicles of automobile history on permanent display.

Not only does the museum have displays of pristine automobiles, but they also offer many amenities included and excluded from a ticketed experience. Both Savoy’s store and café are open to all guests with or without museum admission. The store advertises multiple souvenirs and gifts such as embroidered caps, and souvenir cups along with many other gifts to commemorate your Savoy experience. The store is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Savoy café is a unique dining experience with what savoymuseum.org calls “Dining options that are just as exciting and interesting as the automobiles in the museum.” The café boasts a promising rotating menu of sandwiches, salads, soups, sides, and much more culinary options. The café is open regardless of admission from 10:00 a.m. to 4 p.m.

If you happen to have an available night, a visit to the brand-new Savoy Museum will be the perfect experience for any car enthusiast. The automobiles on display take you back in time as if the cars were still prevalent today as they appear to be fresh out of the factory. The Savoy Automobile Museum will have its grand opening on December 8th.
