Cristiano Ronaldo has officially announced that he is leaving Juventus and going back to Manchester United. This made many long-time fans of the club very happy because he was coming back “home”. This is what Ronaldo had to say, “Manchester United is a club that has always had a special place in my heart, and I have been overwhelmed by all the messages I have received since the announcement on Friday. I cannot wait to play at Old Trafford in front of a full stadium and see all the fans again.”

There were rumors going around that Ronaldo might go to Manchester City. This rumor caused an uproar with Manchester United fans. Ronaldo used to play for Manchester United back in 2003 and when they heard that he might be going to their greatest rival they felt like they got backstabbed. According to @oleshowtimereds on Twitter “He was my idol growing up I absolutely adored him and have always loved him as a player even when he went to Real Madrid, if he goes to City I will lose a great deal of respect for him and I would love to know what Fergie would make of that.” This is just one of many comments said about the rumor. The rumors were soon proven not true when Ronaldo signed a two-year contract with Manchester United.

Ronaldo is going back to Manchester United where he created a name for himself. Ronaldo first joined Manchester United back in 2003 and left in 2009. He was just 16 years old when they signed him but didn’t officially play in a match until he was 18 years old. While playing there for those 6 years he won the club a Champions League title. While at the club Ronaldo scored 118 goals in 292 appearances.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals during his first game back at Manchester United on Saturday, September 11 against Newcastle United in the Premier League. Ronaldo scored a tap-in goal from a rebound of Mason Greenwood. He then scored a low-driven shot to give Manchester United the lead. Ronaldo showed Manchester United that he was back being the Ronaldo they knew and loved.  Benjamin T. said this on Twitter about Ronaldo’s performance, “That was glorious. That was surreal. That was INCREDIBLE. I’ve never seen anything like that… how does a man continue to live up to the hype that Ronaldo does in the face of such incredible pressure? The best of all time. No doubt about it.”
