The National English Honor Society was happy to be invited to help Miss Leanne Kelley’s 5th-grade writing class compose their D.A.R.E (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) essay. 20 of NEHS’s 54 members accompanied their adviser, Mrs. Armona, to White Elementary. While there, NEHS members paired up with 5th-grade students to help compose and/or revise essays about the benefits of never trying drugs. NEHS members were so impressed with how creative and articulate the 5th grades were. Senior, Isabella Mann, said, “There essays were so informative, and the students had real concrete reasons to support their opinions. I loved working with them.”
